My very cool VLD oc, The convuluted history of Corduroy's existence originally being a background character from S1 Ep1 whose design is a clear nod to SDF Macross's Roy Fokker that while some VLD fanfic decide to call this background character by the same name I thought it would be more fun to make them a pastiche instead as it gave me more freedom.
She's an asshole the worst, when Shiro was declaired dead after the Kerberos Mission failed she was estatic!!!! I find some fanfic authors will twist characters like Allura to fufil the role of a villian this is Corduroy's pupose instead of commiting character assasination I just use her. It's fun writting someone whose comically evil though in the "lore" she declined to work on the Atlas cause she's a very patriotic Earthnoid. An Experiment Inspired by a realisation that the other cadets that apear in S1 Ep1 kinda looked like the MFE pilots I decided to reanimated a scene to include them also reanimated a later scene from the Episode when Hunk and Lance are sneaking out to include Adam. My editing software isn't great some shot's mainly ones with a panning camera look pretty rough I got tired of masking those shots manually frame by frame so they look a little bit scuffed. In the video. in an attempt to not get copright claimed the quality has been heavily reduced, the compression hides some of my edtiting mistakes.
I'm not unhappy with the final result but I know I can do better maybe I'll actually learn how to use after effects and remake this gaslighting attempt.
Added the paper to the close up shot cause it's absent from the original. changed the proportions though they still look a little strange.
An attempt at redrawing what this picture could look like unblurred. Shiro's face is a bit off but I think I did a decent job.
I wanted to try and copy the show's artstyle however my own preference for rounded curves as well as the thick line wieght aren't very on model.
Victory Voltron is an au fanfic started from the from the idea of a Legendary Defender esk reboot but for Vehicle Voltron.
It originated out of fact that Vehicle Voltron is unloved and such a reboot would never happen. Took over 70 episodes to even have a background cameo in VLD.
Like a civilisation with no contact to the rest of the world a simple fanfic ends up devolving into a collection of images, narrative themes and inside jokes that are incomprehesible to an outsider.
